Chicago, June 6 2009...Members of the Ghanaian Community here massively came to show their support for Mr. and Mrs. Osei Agyeman-Badu when they outdoored their son, Solomon Yeboah Agyeman-Badu, at the 83rd and Ellis Community Center. The crowd was a convergence of the older and younger generations of Ghanaians in Chicago. D.J Bonsu comprehended the generational mix by playing the most popular music lyrics from “old to new school”.
The Officiating Ministers of the function were Reverend Canon Robert Koomson, of the Church of The Ghanaian Community, Reverend Asabre Agyeman-Badu ( he is the father of Osei Agyeman-Badu),Reverend Dr. Kofi Noonoo, Head of The Congregation of Ghanaian Churches in Chicago,and Dr. Gabriel Amoaten-Boahen. The Emcee for the occasion was Nana Marfo , member of Asanteman Association.
Both Afua and Osei were former Executive members of the Ghana National Council (GNC). Afua is popularly known for her unrivalled work with the youth in the community when she was the Youth Secretary of the GNC, and her royal and beautiful Adowa dance moves at functions such as Ghanafest and Ghana's Independence Anniversary Celebrations. The Asanteman Association recognized Afua's exceptional personal achievements and work with the GNC and their group by giving her an award.
Solomon was Baptized the following day by Reverend Canon Robert Koomson at The Church of The Ghanaian Community of Chicago.
