Chicago's Brong-Ahafo
chief celebrates 40th birthday
July 9 came and went with
a lot of surprises for Ghanaians in Chicago; their children had
the opportunity to realize a dream, a free trip to Six Flags and
a surprise fortieth birthday party for the young energetic and
flamboyant chief of Brong-Ahafo Association, Nana Yaw-Adu Gyamfi.
The party took place at
2311 W. Howard, the Apollo restaurant. Both halls of the
averagely spacious restaurant were small for the steaming crowd
of Chicagoans who came in their numbers to celebrate with Nana
and his family and friends. A large number of attendants were
crammed in both halls and in the open space in front of the
restaurant.
Nana appeared at 1:15 am
and met raucous ovation from the crowd. When Nana and his lovely
wife, Gifty , took the floor, the cheering went wild!
Nana’s in-laws, Mr. and
Mrs Somuah were there to show their support to their daughter
and her popular husband. Other attendees were, Nana Seth Nkansa,
Nana Kwasi Yeboah,Mr. Berko Akoto of African Spectrum, Margaret
Owusu and Joe Konadu, all prominent members of the Ghanaian
community. The MC was Nana Bafour Sakyi.
Millennium Soundz kept the
crowd all night on their feet with thrilling vibes of music.
