Once again, Ghanaians in the Chicago Metropolitan area bring to the Chicago public an exhibition with a makeup theme of a Cultural Exposition Extraordinaire! If you have never visited Ghana or Africa; think of what you are missing! Ever witnessed the Ghanaian Traditional Thanksgiving Celebration? Again, think of what you are missing! It is big, and we keep on making it bigger each year! Ghanaian Cultural Extravaganza! A taste of Ghana! combined with traditional drumming and youth performances, a gathering of all the Ghanaian musical talents in the Chicago area, the Dansikas, and the Ghannata dance bands and others.
Welcome to the largest Ghanaian Cultural Exposition of its kind in North America. It is at your very doorsteps in Chicago, Washington Park, 54th on Payne Drive. It will be a two-day event, starting on Saturday, July 26th, 2003, with a Traditional Cultural Exposition featuring Ghanaian chiefs, queen-mothers, princes and princesses elegantly dressed in the most beautiful Ghanaian Kente.The show will end on Sunday, July 27, with an all-day picnic and music session. Please come prepared on Sunday to wear the soles of your shoes out with an all-day dancing to the latest Ghanaian and African music. Don’t miss out on Ghanafest 2003!Just to remind you one more time! The Ghana National Council of Metropolitan Chicago brings to you Ghanafest 2003. A cultural exposition, which showcases the Ghanaian traditional harvest scene. Come and see the Chicago area Ghanaian chiefs, Queenmothers, princes and princesses of the chiefs’ court adorned in the most beautiful Ghanaian Kente fabric, gold ornaments and other paraphernalia you have ever seen.
This year’s Ghanafest will be unique because it embraces other African cultures. The two-day
festival will combine a one-day cultural exposition and a second day of picnic, music and an all- day dancing with, a two-day Pan African Soccer tournament comprising of about twenty African and Caribbean soccer teams.
