Chicago,IL -- Family and Friends of Rosemary A. Amegashie recently gathered at 5500 S Woodlawn,IL to celebrate the life of Madam Patience Tukpeyi, affectionately called "Daa Awo". Patience Tukpeyi was the mother of Rosemary Amegashie of Chicago. Madam Tukpeyi, died at Ho in the Volta Region of Ghana. She was 78 years old. The late Madam Tukpeyi is survived by her mother , three children and many grand and great grand children.
Reverend Robert Koomson, the officiating minister in his sermon reflected on the many choices in life and encouraged the gathering to strive hard to make God their father to be sure of securing eternal life with the Lord. Mr. Ernest Oware, who initially stood in for the original MC, Mr.Kwasi Yeboah, was spectacular. Magaret Owusu read the Bible for the occasion.
Members of the Ghanaian Community Church and the community members present enjoyed the event tremendously. A soul train like circle of dancing revelers to Borborbor and Hip Life music was the highlights of the celebrants ecstasy. An attendee quipped to yours truly," this is a very well organized function". In a tribute to her mother, Rosemary Amegashie, at times overwhelmed with emotions described her late mother as an adviser, counselor and pillar in the life of her children.
